Airport Engineering: What is the TLOF Lighting System?

What is a TLOF lighting system? The airport project will tell you today that for nighttime heliports, a TLOF lighting system should be set up. However, when the track-type FATO coincides with the TLOF;it may not be set. The surface TLOF lighting system of the heliport is mainly illuminated by sidelights, floodlights, spaced point light arrays (ASPSL) or light-emitting panel (LP) lighting (when it is difficult to set up edge or floodlights with FATO lamps) A variety of lighting systems or several components;TLOF lighting systems for elevated heliports or helicopter platforms should include: edge lights, floodlights, and/or spaced point light arrays (ASPSL) and/or light-emitting-plate (LP) lighting.

For surface heliports for night use,TLOF floodlighting or spaced spotlight array lighting or luminescent panel lighting should be provided for enhanced surface signatures.
